We’ve received several questions from the community regarding the distribution of asBNB airdrop rewards for users supplying asBNB on Venus. This post aims to provide full transparency and clarity on how the process currently works.
All asBNB suppliers on Venus are entitled to the full asBNB APY, which includes rewards originating from Binance HODLer and Megadrop campaigns.
At present, the reward distribution is handled through a manual process:
- Aster distributes the rewards from Megadrop and HODLer campaigns to each asBNB holder – including the Venus smart contract holding supply of asBNB.
- The Vanguard team claims the asBNB airdrop on behalf of Venus users.
- They then calculate each supplier’s proportional share.
- The corresponding rewards are airdropped directly into each user’s wallet.
- Announcements are published on Venus’ Announcement channel on Telegram
We understand the community’s desire for a more automated and transparent system, and we have explored several alternatives together with the Aster team. However, due to technical limitations in how asBNB rewards are structured, the current process remains the most efficient and reliable method for now.
Here’s why:
- There is no set schedule for the asBNB rewards from Megadrop or HODLer drops.
- When Aster receives the airdrop rewards, they must first convert them into asBNB before distributing to holders – the time needed for this conversion process may differ between drops.
- Their smart contract recognizes asBNB holders, not vasBNB holders (who are supplying asBNB through Venus).
- Therefore, suppliers on Venus cannot directly claim their rewards from Aster.
The current solution—facilitated by Vanguard—bridges this gap, ensuring that all Venus suppliers receive their rightful rewards. We acknowledge that this is a tedious and manual effort, and we are deeply appreciative of the Vanguard team’s continued support in serving our community.
Please note that there is no fixed schedule for the Binance HODLer or Megadrop rewards, as distributions depend on when these rewards are released. Nonetheless, we are committed to:
- Maintaining the existing process for consistency and fairness.
- Providing timely updates on each round of airdrop distribution.
- Improving communication and exploring long-term automation options.
