Overview
Treehouse is proposing to the community to add TREE a as collateral asset on Venus’ Core Pool for BNB Chain.
This proposal aims to allow TREE holders to borrow other assets on Venus without liquidating their TREE positions. Meanwhile, conservative parameters should be set to minimize any form of forced liquidation risks.
Adding TREE would further diversify Venus’ collateral set, increase borrow demand, and position Venus as a preferred money market for DeFi projects.
About TREE
TREE is the native utility and governance token of Treehouse Protocol. It is designed to coordinate incentives across stakeholders—including users, Panelists, Delegators, and developers—within the Decentralized Offered Rate (DOR) ecosystem. It plays a critical role in securing the protocol, governing system parameters, and enabling ecosystem growth through staking, fee routing, and incentive distribution.
Rationale for adding TREE on Venus
- Expands collateral options: TREE is live on BNB Chain. Adding it as a collateral asset allows Venus to support a BNB ecosystem asset, while increasing the variety of tokens that can be used as collateral.
- Brings new users and borrowing demand: TREE holders can borrow assets against their positions instead of selling or unwinding liquidity. This can lead to higher asset borrowing activity on Venus, which in turn, increases protocol revenue and total value locked.
Liquidity & Performance of TREE & TREE/USDT LP
- TREE’s main liquidity on BNB is on on PancakeSwap. Liquidity has remained steady since launch, with well over $1M on the DEX.
- TREE is listed across major centralized exchanges including Binance, Bybit, Coinbase, Bitget, MEXC, Gate, KuCoin, HTX, Kraken, Upbit, and Bithumb.
Motivation
Enabling TREE as collateral lets TREE holders to borrow against their asset on BNB for other DeFi opportunities. As such, Venus can access a broader user base with additional borrowing demands and higher protocol revenue. TREE’s liquidity, cross-chain presence, and Chainlink oracle support make it a strong candidate for collateral, while conservative parameters (low LTV, borrow cap) ensure a safe integration.
